Postal flowers
I’ve offered sugar flowers made to order for many years. But, due to their fragility, they’ve only ever been available for collection. However, back in early 2019 I looked into the possibility of also offering postal flowers. Ultimately, after searching exhaustively for suitable packaging I decided it was too risky. Sugar flowers are so very fragile, I didn’t fancy the stress of waiting for confirmation from the customer that they’d arrived intact or my customers feeling the disappointment of opening a box of broken petals. So I let my postal flowers idea lay dormant.
Fast forward to 2023…
Eventually, in April 2023 I was chatting with a lovely cake designer friend of mine about an idea she’d had for a (different) postal product for her business. Consequently, it reignited my interest in offering postal flowers. So I revisited the packaging research. Still, I knew the flower varieties I offered would have to be limited due to fragility. Also, I knew I may have to compromise on the delicacy of my flowers by offering more ‘chunky’ versions for my postal flowers service. Although I was just about to start creating some sugar flowers to post to myself as a test, I really didn’t want to compromise on either variety or delicacy. Then, on 22 April 2023 (at 2.45am) I woke with a brainwave… air dry clay flowers!
Forever flowers by post
Finally, after wishing to make my flowers available to a wider audience for years now they are! My ‘forever flowers’ are a perfect non-fragile alternative to sugar flowers and can be shipped anywhere in the UK!
Hand crafted from non-toxic, lightweight, air dry clay, with realistic, flexible petals soft to the touch, the flowers are an ideal non-fragile cake decorating solution to really elevate your cake! Air dry clay postal flowers
Having started my creative life in clay, although quite different to working with kiln-fired clay, this extension to my business feels so right for me. I can offer single blooms, multiple individual stems, even bouquets! Also I can assemble for you multiple flowers into a one-stemmed arrangement for quick and easy cake decorating or display.
Bespoke flowers by post
Just like my wedding cake design and sugar flowers services, my forever flowers by post will be made to order and bespoke to you. So you can choose whatever colour and variety you desire!
Full instructions for use as a cake decoration will be provided. The flowers can be retained as a keepsake, or displayed in your home, long after the cake is eaten! For gifting I can also include a personalised, handwritten, message. Lead time is approximately two weeks but is also dependent on the size of your order.
